Gene Snitsky Wants To Make His WWE Royal Rumble Return
Gene Snitsky only appeared in a WWE Royal Rumble match twice, but the baby-punting Superstar is ready to make a dramatic comeback.
On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Snitsky recalled being in the 2005 match and his iconic clothesline elimination of Paul London. He said,
“I dare say it’s the top elimination ever in my opinion, not because I was involved in it but because just the crowd reaction, the bump, like all things taken into consideration. I don’t think anything else really matches it… I f***ing creamed him dude. I ain’t going to lie. I hit him hard but man that f***ing bump. The crowd just was like— “[gasps]” —like they thought he was dead.”
The bump was spectacular, though London has claimed he got heat backstage for the spot, with veteran talent angry that the spot could take attention away from them.
Snitsky’s final Royal Rumble match was in 2008, though on the podcast, he made it clear that he’d be up for a one-off return in a future 30-man match. He said,
“That kind of stuff absolutely, because it keeps my face out there, you know it’s good for a shop, it’s good for my brand is the way the kids are talking these days.”
During the podcast, Snitsky opened up about his legacy in wrestling, punting babies, and his 2023 one-off return to WWE. Click here to find out more.
