Report – WWE WrestleMania 42 No Longer Taking Place In New Orleans
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is reporting that WWE WrestleMania 42 will no longer take place in New Orleans as originally planned for 2026. The two-night event was scheduled for April 11 and 12, 2026, at the Caesars Superdome. However, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation has confirmed that WrestleMania will now be postponed to a future year.
In its official statement, the organization said, “The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership, which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.”
While WWE has not yet updated its website to reflect the change, Fightful has confirmed the news. The move is part of a broader agreement that will bring the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event to New Orleans instead in 2026.
The announcement of New Orleans as the 2026 WrestleMania host was originally made by The Rock during the February 21 episode of SmackDown. Despite the schedule change, sources within WWE note that New Orleans is still slated to host a future WrestleMania.
At this time, the new location for WrestleMania 42 in 2026 has not been confirmed. WWE is also still expected to bring a future WrestleMania to Indianapolis.
