Vince Russo Claims Elijah (Elias) Paid Him For Gimmick Help
On a recent edition of the “WrestleBinge” podcast, Vince Russo claimed that Elijah (Elias) sought his help when trying to craft a gimmick. He said,
“Elias went as far as to send me money. Bro, if a talent wants to call me, bounce stuff off me, I am always gonna give them that. I don’t want a dime from you. He actually sent me money because what happened was, Elias went away and Vince was gonna bring him back and the creative was freaking horrible. And he knew it was horrible, he was like, ‘Vince, I will be dead in the water.’ So we got on the phone together, and I gave him a really, really good gimmick, and he went and pitched it to Vince, and it was just so far over Vince’s head that he couldn’t comprehend it.”
Russo didn’t share what gimmick he and Elijah crafted. The former 24/7 Champion was released from WWE in late 2023.
Last week, it was reported that Elijah had signed with AEW, though those at Tony Khan’s company are yet to publicly confirm this.
Many believe Elijah will debut in AEW alongside Vincent and Dutch of The Righteous as the three recently aligned in a video vignette.
