Becky Lynch On Her “Great” Wrestling Mindest, Future Plans

On a recent edition of the “Getting Over” podcast, WWE’s Becky Lynch was asked about her future plans in wrestling. She said,

“I’m not trying to be vague or cagey in any way, but I feel like I have a great mind for wrestling, a great love for it, and it’s always going to be a part of me. It’s in my heart, it’s in my head, and it’s the reason I have my family. So, it’s incredibly important to me—I just don’t know what that looks like in the future.”

Lynch hasn’t competed since May 2024 and her contract with WWE expired the following month. In January 2025, Lynch re-signed with WWE.

During the podcast, Lynch added that surprises to her life have made it that she doesn’t want to guarantee anything in her immediate future. She said,

“Life has surprised me in wonderful ways recently. You can make all these plans, but sometimes things don’t go the way you intended. In the long run, though, something else works out—something even better than you expected. And honestly, I feel like that’s been the story of my entire career.”

At one time, it was believed that Lynch would face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 41, though that no longer appears to be the case.

Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, Naomi, and Bianca Belair will compete in the women’s Elimination Chamber match to decide Ripley’s WrestleMania 41 challenger.
