AJ Styles seemingly refers to Vince McMahon while defending Road Dogg.

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Road Dogg has been named the co-lead writer of WWE SmackDown. The news sparked plenty of discourse among fans, given Road Dogg’s previous run as the co-lead writer for SmackDown.

AJ Styles responded to a post about the report and noted that, before judging him for his past performance, it was important to know that “there was a man” who picked it apart to the point that it was no longer his ideas.

Styles was seemingly referring to former WWE chairman Vince McMahon, who oversaw WWE creative until he stepped down and eventually retired in 2022. McMahon later returned but resigned from WWE and TKO amid the allegations of sexual assault and trafficking that Janel Grant made in her lawsuit in January 2024.

Styles returned to the ring at WWE Royal Rumble. He then joined the WWE RAW roster.
