Matt Cardona Reflects On Four-Year Anniversary Of WWE Release
Getting released from WWE on April 15, 2020 was one of the best things to happen to Matt Cardona, according to the ex-Superstar himself.
Since the end of his time as Zack Ryder, Cardona has become a top name on the independent scene and is a former GCW & NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.
Taking to Twitter, Cardona reflected on his release and said Zack Ryder needed to die so that his career could be reborn.
In a video, Cardona highlighted some of his post-WWE accolades and added that he’s always ready for whatever is to come next.

It was a blessing in disguise. I’m forever grateful for my time in WWE, but Zack Ryder needed to die for Matt Cardona to live!
