Backstage Note On MLW Television Deal, Possible Deal With Discovery+

As you may know by now, MLW CEO Court Bauer has been negotiating for a new television deal for MLW and has seemingly already put the deal in place. According to Pwinsider, MLW has recently been in discussions with Discovery, who most recently had a relationship with Impact Wrestling when its programming aired on Destination America. With Discovery launching their Discovery+ streaming service, they have made an aggressive approach in pursuing new content, including VICE TV properties like Dark Side of the Ring.

Interesting enough, both Discovery and Investigation Discovery reach around 96 million homes worldwide, which means landing a deal here would be a huge get for MLW if that were to occur. Discovery was among those interested in WWE programming last year when it was searching for options outside of the WWE Network. MLW’s current deals with DAZN and beIN Sports would remain in place “regardless of additional new deals” with other services.
