WWE Hall of Famer Recalls Driving Past Dead Body After ‘Snorting Cocaine for Eight Hours’
WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg has recounted one of the most disturbing moments from his past. A road trip he shared with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett, during which they drove past something deeply unsettling.
The former Intercontinental Champion has never shied away from making a clean breast of his past mistakes from his younger days. The age when a lot of wrestlers messed around with substances and vices. But this account from Chicago stands out due to this unexpected grim discovery.
Road Dogg Recalls The Time He and Jeff Jarrett Spotted A Dead Body On The Road
During an interview with Heartas Art, Road Dogg revisited the time he shared a harrowing experience with Double J, Jeff Jarrett. After calling it a night partying at Stay Out Club in Chicago, the duo came across a dead person lying in the road.
Naturally, after discovering the body, Dogg and Jarrett were faced with the moral conundrum of stopping or driving off. While Jeff Jarrett asked Road Dogg if they should stop, the latter thought it wasn’t a good idea. And he had his reasons.
He said, “Chicago, another thing, there used to be a club here called the Stay Out Club. Have you ever heard of that? Me and Jeff Jarrett drove right past a dead person while leaving. There’s a dead person on the road. (Jarrett said) ‘Should we stop?’ I looked, and I said, ‘we’ve been snorting cocaine for eight hours. We’re going to keep going.’ Yeah, I’ve done a lot of stupid things in my life.”
Road Dogg admits that substance use influenced his decision to not stop while also admitting he doesn’t look back proudly on the choices he made during that time.
Needless to say, the incident remains one of the many questionable moments from Road Dogg and Jeff Jarrett’s past. But nonetheless, some memories, good or bad, can feel more comforting knowing you didn’t have to go through it alone.
The WWE veteran resigned from his role as co-lead writer for SmackDown in March due to creative unhappiness. After his exit, there was speculation about his potential AEW move; however, Road Dogg said he was turned away due to his political beliefs. It remains to be seen what’s next for the WWE legend.
