TNA Signs Former NWA Champion At Lockdown

TNA has signed a former NWA Champion to a contract.
During the Countdown to Lockdown pre-show, Joe Alonzo successfully defended his AAW Heavyweight Championship against the Home Town Man. Per the stipulation, Alonzo earned a TNA contract.
The finish of the match saw Alonzo distract the Home Town Man by pulling off his mask before catching him with a roll-up for the win.
“After pulling off the mask of @thehometownman and a quick roll up, your winner and STILL your AAW Heavyweight Champion and the NEWEST @tnawrestling superstar, The King of Chicago,
@joealonzojr!” AAW Wrestling posted on X.
TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella had announced the match-up ahead of TNA Lockdown, noting that Alonzo would earn a TNA contract if he defeated the Home Town Man.
“The TNA Wrestling Director of Authority @milanmiracle just appeared at #AAWUnbreakable and announced that TOMORROW at #TNALockdown, the AAW Heavyweight Champion @JoeAlonzoJr
will defend the AAW Heavyweight Championship against @TheHomeTownMan
and if Joe wins, he gets a TNA Wrestling contract!” AAW Wrestling previously posted on X.
Alonzo is a former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion.
