Donald Trump WWE Hall of Fame

Donald Trump is best known for politics and business. However, he also has a long history with WWE. The 45th and 47th U.S. President appeared in several major WWE storylines over the years. His involvement eventually earned him a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.

WWE inducted Donald Trump into its Hall of Fame class in 2013. He entered through the Celebrity Wing category. It honors non-wrestlers who helped WWE grow. The 45th and 47th U.S. President had been involved with the company for years.

His WWE connection actually dates back several decades. He hosted WrestleMania 4 and WrestleMania 5 at Trump Plaza, which helped bring extra attention to WWE. Trump has also appeared on WWE programming on multiple occasions.

Unlike most celebrities, he wasn’t a one-time guest. He became a recurring character in several storylines. That made him stand out from many celebrities. His biggest WWE role came before WrestleMania 23 which saw Trump and Vince McMahon in a heated rivalry.

Donald Trump was at the center of a major WWE angle for WrestleMania 23

The feud became the Battle of the Billionaires. It helped create one of WWE’s biggest events. Bobby Lashley represented Trump in the featured match and Umaga represented McMahon during the WrestleMania showdown.

Lashley picked up the victory over Umaga at WrestleMania 23. After the match, Trump, Lashley, and Stone Cold Steve Austin celebrated by shaving Vince McMahon’s head in the middle of the ring.

Trump later returned for another major WWE angle. In 2009, he bought WWE RAW for a week. The storyline generated plenty of buzz and headlines. Trump’s WWE appearances helped bring mainstream attention on many occasions.

A major reason behind Trump’s induction was exposure. His appearances attracted attention beyond wrestling audiences and the media covered many of his WWE appearances. That helped introduce WWE to new viewers too.

Fans still talk about several of those moments today. Trump’s friendship with McMahon also played a role, as the two have known each other for decades. McMahon personally inducted Trump into the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame class.

This led to Trump joining several famous names in the Celebrity Wing. Other inductees include Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Mr. T, Snoop Dogg, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
