Becky Lynch retained the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on WWE RAW thanks to a major heel turn.

After winning the Women’s Intercontinental Championship for the second time on the January 5 episode of WWE RAW, Becky Lynch defended her title against Maxxine Dupri on this week’s episode.

Both superstars put on a good back-and-forth contest. The final moments of the match saw Becky Lynch run into an exposed turnbuckle before taking a spin kick from Maxxine Dupri. The latter had Lynch down for the pin, but before the referee could count to three, Natalya, who was in Dupri’s corner, put The Man’s feet on the rope to break the count.

Natalya’s betrayal allowed Becky Lynch to capitalize and hit Dupri with a Manhandle Slam to score the pin and retain the title on WWE RAW. After the match, Natalya attacked a heartbroken Dupri inside the ring and locked her in the Sharpshooter, prompting the referee to intervene and separate the two superstars.

Natalya had been a mentor to Maxxine Dupri in recent months, and fans and wrestling personalities speculated a heel turn, which eventually materialized on this week’s WWE RAW. It will be interesting to see if the turn will lead to The Queen of Harts debuting her Nattie character in WWE.
