John Cena Reveals Which WWE Legend He Wishes He Main Evented WrestleMania With
John Cena is only a few appearances away from concluding his retirement tour. During his career, Cena has shared the ring with many legendary stars. This includes matches with Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan, among others.
Despite having an incredibly decorated resume, Cena revealed the one WWE legend whom he selfishly wishes he could have main-evented WrestleMania against.
During a recent appearance at FAN EXPO Chicago 2025, John Cena was asked to name the one star he would love to headline WrestleMania with if he could go back in time. Cena, a 17-time World Champion, explained why Andre the Giant made sense for multiple reasons.
“Just selfishly, Andre, because he was like the measuring stick. The folklore behind Andre the Giant is mythical, in both physical, as his presence, but also in the folklore of the fraternity of the brotherhood of wrestling, especially the WWF territory,” Cena explained. “I’m sure it’s across the world, because Andre was a global phenomenon. But, selfishly, yes, that would be the one: Andre the Giant.”
During the same stage appearance, Cena also addressed his failed heel turn and said he might be able to address why it didn’t work out in the near future.
When and where will John Cena compete in his final WWE match?
After this weekend, John Cena will have just four dates left in his final run with WWE. The ‘Franchise Player’ is set to lock horns against AJ Styles at Crown Jewel 2025.
Following this, Cena will appear on the November 11 episode of Monday Night RAW. He will also be present for the Madison Square Garden edition of RAW on November 18. John Cena will then compete at Survivor Series: WarGames before concluding his retirement tour on December 13, 2025, in Washington, DC, at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
As of now, WWE has not announced his opponent, but a top WWE star is currently rumored to be the front-runner.
