AEW Star Wardlow Is Injured Again
Wardlow just returned to AEW TV, but he’s already dealing with an unfortunate setback.
The AEW star just returned to television last month after an extended absence from the company. According to a new report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), Wardlow is dealing with another injury, and it could not have come at a worse time. The outlet says it’s believed that Wardlow is dealing with a torn pectoral muscle, which would keep him out of the ring for an extended period of time. It was noted that he could always stay on television in an enforcer-type role, but that was more speculative in nature.
It’s unclear when Wardlow was injured, but it was suggested that he got hurt during his return angle. Wardlow missed over a year, with several months of that being due to injuries. He was cleared a few months ago. However, he remained off of AEW television due to his role in the upcoming American Gladiators revival. Wardlow reportedly filmed two seasons of the series.
Fightful spoke with several performers in AEW, who were obviously upset about Wardlow being sidelined with another injury. It was noted that it was a tough blow considering he worked through other injuries and waited so long to get back on TV.
Wardlow’s return took place at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on August 24. He made a surprise appearance at the conclusion of the AEW Unified Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Swerve Strickland. He attacked Prince Nana before revealing himself as the newest member of the Don Callis Family.
