Wardlow shocked fans with a surprise return at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.

The former TNT Champion was last seen at AEW Dynamite’s “Big Business” special on March 13, 2024, where he lost a world title bout to Samoa Joe. Reports revealed his absence to a torn labrum, but later that year Wardlow was also recovering from a car accident. His absence was partly due to filming Amazon Prime’s American Gladiators reboot, hosted by WWE’s The Miz.

At AEW Forbidden Door, Kazuchika Okada defeated Swerve Strickland to retain the AEW Unified Championship. After the match, Okada attacked Strickland’s injured knee, slamming it into the ring steps and smashing it with a steel chair.

Before Kazuchika Okada could do more damage, Prince Nana rushed in with a pipe to protect Strickland. While Nana checked on Swerve, Wardlow entered the ring in a black suit. He blindsided Nana with an attack.

Security quickly rushed in to stop Mr. Mayhem, but Wardlow tore through them, leaving chaos in the ring. Swerve Strickland in pain could only watch as Wardlow creates chaos in the ring before giving one guard with an powerbomb before finally leaving the ring.

Wardlow aligns with Don Callis Family at AEW Forbidden Door

After creating chaos in the ring, former TNT Champion Wardlow walked up the ramp and met the Don Callis Family. He embraced Don Callis, officially joining the faction, while Callis and Okada stood on the ramp with huge smiles on their faces.

The rest of the Don Callis Family came out to welcome their newest member. The celebration briefly stopped when Konosuke Takeshita made his entrance to a big ovation. Takeshita, who has a history with Wardlow, stared him down before finally nodding in approval.
