Could we see the extensive WWE library of events move to ESPN in 2026?

WWE announced a new deal on August 6 with ESPN that will see the company’s premium live events move to the ESPN app in 2026. But what does that mean for the company’s extensive library that currently lives on Peacock?

ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro was a recent guest on The Ringer’s Press Box Podcast. When asked about acquiring the WWE library of events, which would offer decades worth of content to their new streaming app, Pitaro said it’s something they are interested in.

“We’re always interested in the content of that quality,” Jimmy Pitaro said. “I will tell you that we have the archival rights for the events that we are airing. But yes, in terms of their library, we certainly would be interested if and when these rights are available.” [H/T: POST Wrestling]

A previous report suggested that WWE’s content library may move to YouTube in 2026, but that is far from confirmed.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
