Jey Uso Hilariously Botches Cody Rhodes’ In-Ring Birthday Celebration
It’s just me… oops.
On Saturday, Cody Rhodes claimed his crown as the King of the Ring. On Monday, he then claimed his cake as the birthday boy. Following the WWE Raw and SmackDown tapings in Pittsburgh, Cody Rhodes celebrated his 40th birthday with the live audience and his former tag team partner, Jey Uso. One young audience member even joined Uso in the ring to present Rhodes with a birthday cake and a special rendition of “Happy Birthday.”
After Rhodes blew out his birthday candle, however, things went slightly awry.
As Uso lifted the cake up as a nod to Rhodes, it suddenly fell onto the mat, frosting-first, causing Uso to immediately run away and point to it as if it were possessed. Using Rhodes as a human shield, Uso and “The American Nightmare” reapproached the cake, with the latter picking it back up, albeit in pieces.

After taking in the “You F***ed Up” chants from the Pittsburgh crowd, Jey Uso then prepared for Rhodes to smash the cake in his face. Instead, Rhodes smashed it in his own, sending the crowd home happy and in laughter.
At WWE Night of Champions, Rhodes defeated Randy Orton in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. This win cemented Rhodes a rematch against Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, this time at SummerSlam.
