Goldberg had his retirement match last weekend. Three days later, he went on the Ariel Helwani Show and pointed out some of the issues he had with the bout. Goldberg said he had fun and didn’t want to complain, but then he went and complained about it.

Among his points of contention, Goldberg said he wished his match had taken place on a WWE Premium Live Event instead of on Saturday Night’s Main Event, which aired on TV. In addition, he wanted a longer lead time to promote the match, and was upset that his speech got cut off on the NBC broadcast.

Some people might agree that he has some valid points. However, it’s worth pointing out that his speech getting cut off was due to NBC needing to end the show promptly at 10 pm, and wasn’t done intentionally. Many in the pro wrestling world are calling him out for sounding ungrateful. Among those in the latter camp is Dave LaGreca, who just wants him to be quiet and go away.

Goldberg said he wouldn’t complain… then he complained

During a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, LaGreca went off on Goldberg for complaining about his retirement match. LaGreca even went as far as saying Goldberg ruined his birthday.

“[Goldberg] just had his retirement career match three days earlier where everybody’s praising it… and I’m expecting this Ariel Helwani sit down to be kind of like, just pats on the back,” LaGreca said (via WrestlingNews.co). “It was exactly the opposite. And, I mean, Goldberg complained about everything, and then did the whole, ‘I don’t mean to complain’… You can’t complain, and then say, ‘Well, I’m not complaining.’ You just complained.”

LaGreca defended WWE and argued that they gave Goldberg a great farewell. He believes Goldberg sounds unappreciative, because a televised world title match in his hometown (more than three years after his last match) was a “best case scenario.”

Goldberg sounds ungrateful about a “best case” opportunity

LaGreca continued, pointing out that Goldberg had an advertised retirement match, but refused to conclusively close the door on his in-ring career. Goldberg told Helwani it was his last match “in principle,” but LaGreca just wants Goldberg to go away.

“I was getting so angry. I’m like, I can’t let this guy ruin my birthday,” LaGreca said. “He’s ruined so many things for me throughout the course of the last 25 years. He’s not ruining my birthday. So I turned it off… I was getting nauseous. The dinner I had, the ice cream I had celebrating my birthday, I was about to vomit all over the f—ing floor because of this asshole.”

“Really? You’re done. D, O, N, E, done. No more Goldberg. I don’t want to see him. I don’t want to hear from him,” LaGreca said.
