Shotzi Blackheart Recalls Working WWE Event On Wedding Day, Terri Runnels Critiques WWE

Shotzi Blackheart got married in December 2023 and went straight to work a WWE live event right after the wedding.

During a recent appearance on “The Aerial Helwani Show,” Shotzi revealed that it was her decision to participate in the live event on the day of her wedding. She said:

“So, I actually pitched that to Road Dogg (wrestling after my wedding)… Yeah, I got married at the Little White Wedding Chapel and then rushed on over and wrestled Bayley. With the wedding dress (she laughed). I ripped off the wig and everything but yeah, it was a good time. We planned it maybe like a few weeks before. I got booked on that live event and I told my husband, I was like, ‘What if we just stopped planning the wedding and we just eloped?’ Not super deep (into wedding plans). We had talks about what we wanted to do. We wanted to do this big Halloween wedding and I was just like, ‘You know what? Screw all this stressful stuff. Let’s just get married and just be us’ and it was the best idea ever. I’m so happy that we did that. It was just no stress. We just did it. Got a really awesome room at The Cosmopolitan and just had some fun that night with everyone that was on the show. Yeah, so all the wrestlers came out and partied with us at a karaoke bar and it was the greatest time ever.”

In 2018, WWE celebrated the 25th anniversary of Monday Night RAW with a special episode called “RAW 25.”

During a recent appearance on the “Ring The Belle” podcast, Terri Runnels expressed disappointment regarding the presentation of female legends during that episode. She said,

“Here’s what’s interesting about that. Dustin calls and says, ‘I told Vince that it’d be great if you could walk me out.’ I loved that cause it had been so long since he and I were seen in the same squared box on the television. Then, he called me back and said, ‘You’re going to have your own thing to do.’ No, his words were, ‘You’re going to have your own spotlight.’ When he said that, I was like, ‘Okay.’ I’m thinking about our old entrances like, ‘So now, I’m just going to have a spotlight on me or what?’ It turned out, if you guys watched the 25th anniversary, it turned out that all we women did was just walk out and [wave]. Which was sad, it made me sad.”
