Seth Rollins Explains How He Can Still Work With CM Punk Despite Hating Him
Seth Rollins may have a hard time being in the same room with CM Punk, but he’ll take every opportunity to knock him out.
Seth Rollins has never shied away from expressing his disdain for CM Punk. The Visionary was recently asked by Daniel Cormier at WWE World how he’s able to work with his former mentor despite not liking him on a personal and professional level.
“Look, I am a professional, through and through,” Rollins said. “And I’ve said it time and time again. I said it on Monday. I will always do what is best for business. And I think that’s what separates me from CM Punk and from Roman Reigns. CM Punk has proven, no matter what he says to you guys, he will always do what’s best for CM Punk. And if that includes taking his ball and going home and crying when he has to, that’s what he’s going to do.”
Rollins brought up his part from WrestleMania XL main event. He revealed he showed up to help Cody Rhodes defeat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship despite his stepdad “dying of cancer” at home.
“Roman Reigns makes no secret about the fact that he is the end-all be-all of the industry. Right? And so, he is going to do whatever it takes to make sure Roman Reigns is at the very top. I, on the other hand, and you can see by what I did last year at WrestleMania, I had my knee hanging by a thread, right? My stepdad’s at home, he’s dying of cancer. And I’m there to help Cody Rhodes make sure that he beats Roman Reigns and takes the WWE Championship home. Because I will always do what is best for you guys and for the future of this industry,” he said.
Seth Rollins says he doesn’t trust CM Punk
Seth Rollins reiterated his lack of respect for CM Punk, noting he doesn’t trust his former mentor. Rollins finished by saying he’ll take every opportunity to knock out Punk.
“And if that means that I got to put my pride aside and get in the ring with CM Punk, then I will do that,” he emphasized. “But I will tell you this and this is as real as it gets, I do not like CM Punk. I do not respect CM Punk. I have a hard time being in the same room with him and having conversations in his space. And I don’t trust him. And I don’t trust that he’s back with all these good intentions and that it’s going to last and so, time may prove me wrong. I am open to being wrong. But right now, I have no love lost with CM Punk. And I will take every opportunity I can to knock him out.”
Rollins, Punk and Reigns are set to collide in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 41 this Saturday. WrestleZone will have full coverage of the show as it airs.
