Dominik Dijak Recalls Dramatic Efforts To Make RETRIBUTION Role Work

Former WWE Superstar Donovan Dijak packed on plenty of muscle to make his role in RETRIBUTION work, the former T-BAR has revealed.

Speaking to Metro, Dijak shared that since he knew fans would recognize him under the mask, he worked hard to change his look for the group. He said,

“I was like, I’m gonna make this as visually different as I possibly can. I shaved my head, I put in contact lenses, I painted my face, I did my beard differently. I gained 30 pounds, you know? I stacked on muscle as much as I could, I changed my gear.

“I changed everything I possibly could so that people could look at two separate entities and not just be like completely confused as to why Dominic Dijakovic is now something completely different.”

Despite this effort, Dijak and the others in RETRIBUTION were the subject of ridicule by fans as “everyone just wanted to dump on us.”

Dijak also recalled working hard with the others in the group to make what they presented seem passable to the WWE Universe. He said,

”We would get our assignment for the day, and we’d read it, and we’d be like, “oh boy”, and then we’d spend most of Monday just sort of like fighting to make it more presentable so that we just didn’t get eviscerated.”

RETRIBUTION came together in 2020 but was nixed in 2021. Dijak would see a career resurgence as part of WWE NXT before his release in 2024.
