Kota Ibushi Makes Surprise In-Ring Return At DDT Pro Event

Kota Ibushi returned to the ring on Sunday morning after being sidelined with an ankle injury.

Ibushi suffered an injury in the main event of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s New Year 2024 show in January. He was rushed to the hospital for further evaluation and underwent surgery. At the time, the Japanese star was expected to be out of action for six to twelve months.

Ibushi departed from NJPW last year before signing with AEW. However, he hasn’t wrestled for Tony Khan’s company since AEW WrestleDream 2023 in October.

Earlier today, Ibushi returned to DDT Pro Wrestling after seven years, where he wrestled a full match against Sanshiro Takagi.

Ibushi competed as a “special weapon” on behalf of Donshoku Dina as he faced the DDT Pro President in a Weapon Rumble match for the Ironman Heavymetalweight Title. Ibushi assisted Dino in achieving victory by executing a Kamigoye on Takagi.

Ibushi previously wrestled a 5-minute exhibition match against Daisuke Sekimoto earlier this month, which ended in a time-limit draw.
