Kurt Angle Says Don West & Mike Tenay Were As Good As JR & King
pact Wrestling’s legendary commentary team of Don West & Mike Tenay were just as good as JR & Jerry ‘The King’s Lawler, according to Kurt Angle.
Angle joined Impact (TNA Wrestling at the time) in 2006 and remained with the promotion until 2015.
During his “Kurt Angle Show” podcast, the Olympian reflected on the TNA commentators. He said,
“It’s awesome. They were the voices of TNA for so many years. I absolutely loved those guys. I thought … they were just as good … as JR and Jerry “The King” [Lawler]. They were just as effective. I thought they were great, they were awesome.”
Tenay and West, the latter of whom died last December, will be inducted into the Impact Hall of Fame next month at Bound for Glory.
