Update On Plans For WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament

WWE announced that they would hold a tournament to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions after stripping Sasha Banks and Naomi of the titles in addition to suspending them for walking out. 

During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted the tournament for the vacant titles is still being planned, and “there are pitches that have been made.” 

The tournament will likely consist of four teams with Nikki ASH and Doudrop as one of the teams and Natalya and Shayna Baszler being the other. 

There are several different options for the other two teams including a potential reunion between Carmella and Zelina Vega even though they split up. “Nothing is finalized” for the tournament plans yet.
