Backstage Note On Kyle O’Reilly’s Stretcher Injury Angle

On Wednesday’s episode of WWE NXT, Kyle O’Reilly appeared to be “injured” by Adam Cole when he was suplexed on the steel steps and was knocked out. The way he landed and sold the angle made it so believable that fans in attendance had thought he was legitimately hurt or had suffered a seizure afterwards (which was later proven to be false). O’Reilly is doing fine and was simply selling the attack to the best of his abilities.

Following the show, both Triple H and NXT Champion Finn Balor checked on O’Reilly before he was taken backstage on a stretcher. This led to a fan falsely stating that he suffered a seizure and/or was legitimately hurt. Additionally, the NXT roster had no clue what was going on and had also felt that he was really hurt, but that obviously was not the case.

Internally, absolutely no mention was made of making this about having any sort of seizure. Having caught wind of what was happening all over social media following NXT, WWE officials were quick to send out that the angle was part of the storyline. O’Reilly took to Twitter this afternoon and thanked the fans for their concern and support of his health.
