Cody Rhodes Calls Out The Official AEW Twitter Account
The AEW Twitter account made a post regarding Cody Rhodes’ recent comments about chairshots during the AEW Unrestricted podcast. The AEW Twitter account said,
“Steel chair shots to the head can be done safely! ‘The American Nightmare’ @CodyRhodes explains on a new episode of #AEWUnrestricted.”
Cody responded, saying,
“Woof — this headline, ha.
Swing and a miss.
For clarity: we are talking about a prop chair.”
During the podcast, Cody was talking about chairshots and said the chair had to be gimmicked for safety and that he wanted to show that a gimmicked chair could be done well in that capacity. He said that following the infamous spot, he realized that gimmicked or not, the optics of chair shots to the head are bad no matter how safe it is. He said it was a “a big lesson for me” and doesn’t see AEW ever doing chairs to the head again.

Talking about a fake/prop chair. Headline is misleading.
