WWE SummerSlam Results: Bayley vs. Asuka

The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE SummerSlam PPV event:

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Asuka

Asuka came out firing as she hit a hip attack sending Bayley off the apron before jumping off the steel steps with a DDT. Back in the ring, Bayley took advantage by using the top rope to take out the fire of the challenger. Moments later, Asuka rallied back and hit some strikes. Asuka caught her with a knee strike to the face then a back suplex for a near fall.

They traded shots on the apron, but Bayley caught her and sent her knee first on the apron. Back in the ring, Bayley hit a chop block and started to target the left knee of Asuka. Although Asuka went for a drop kick off the top rope, Bayley avoided it and went back to a leg submission.

Asuka caught her in an armbar, but Banks got close and Asuka kicked her to break the hold. Asuka kicked Banks again and this allowed Bayley to roll her up for 2. Asuka knocked Banks off the apron again, which allowed Bayley to roll her up a second time for the win. 

Winner: Bayley (champion)

Post-match, Banks and Bayley beat down Asuka.
