Reason Why WWE Payback Is Taking Place After SummerSlam, Dragon Gate
On Twitter, Dave Meltzer said that the reason WWE is running the Payback pay-per-view event just one week after SummerSlam is an experiment by the company. The feeling is that WWE will have a “hot angle” following SummerSlam that will carry over into Payback for possible resolution to the angle or continuation of a particular plot and/or storyline.
Just an experiment to see how it works. They must have an idea for a hot angle coming off SummerSlam that they felt needed an immediate follow-up. That or, it was just an idea they are trying. https://t.co/1yLK6Z4xYv
